OK, these are the ways you can do the trip Arlanda-Värtahamnen to the Silja terminal:

1. Quickest but most expensive Arlanda Express to Stockholm's central: 220 SEK (20 minutes) SL subway to Gärdet: 40 SEK (5-10 minutess depending on if you have to wait for the subway or not)

2. Not as quick and expensive Flygbussen to Stockholm's central: 99 SEK (about 40 minutes, depends on traffic) SL subway to Gärdet: 40 SEK (5-10 minutess depending on if you have to wait for the subway or not)

3. Slowest and least expensive Bus 583/583X to Märsta: 40 SEK (10-15 minutes) Commuter train Märsta-Stockholm's central: 40 SEK (36 minutes) SL subway to Gärdet: 0 SEK because the tickets you buy for the bus and the train will cover this (5-10 minutes depending on if you have to wait for the subway or not).

From Gärdet you walk about 10 minutes and as far as I remember there are signs pointing at the harbor.

To all options, add 5-10 minutes walking to the subway entrance and showing your tickets to the clerk and telling them you're going to Gärdet (pronounced more or less like jardet - j as in Joe).

Personally I'd go for either options 1 or 2, depending on how much money you want to invest. Lately the commuter train has been delayed for no reason (sometimes up to 15 minutes) and even tho you have plenty of time, better to arrive to the port too early than too late.
