San Francisco või Los Angeles

Heip tupsud,

Mulle tundub, et ilmselt on sügisel Las Vegase rada jälle käsil, kuid tahaks planeerida natukene ka reisimist sinna juurde ja teha natukene turismi.

Ehk siis küsimus. Mida on teha San Franciscos - mida on teha Los Angeleses? Või võib-olla minna mõlemasse? Ilmselt oleks plaan võtta auto ja orienteeruvalt nädal turri jaoks planeerida :)

Kas mõnda head looduslikku vaatamisväärsust ka tasub uurida? Surmaorg - kuidas seal turismiga lood on? Keegi rääkis veel midagi väga kõrgetest puudest.

Los-Angeles-San Fransisco vaheline tee on mõtet sõita piki maalilist 1. kiirteed. Lae alla peatükk, kus päris kenasti kirjas: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/campaigns/usatrips/pdf/Sample-Trip-California.pdf

Driving from San Francisco to Los Angeles I would agree and say Route 1, or Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) as it is commonly known, is a really wonderful choice. I also took the PCH from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and though it was a day ride only, I was exhilarated by the end of it .. one of the best day road trips I have ve done, ever. Since you have 6 days you can thoroughly enjoy the entire route.

This is what I would suggest: San Fransisco.Visit Fisherman's Wharf and its Pier 39, where hundreds of harbor seals have made their home on the pier docks. Also Golden Gate bridge (or San Mateo bridge), Alcatraz Island and the biggest China Town in North America. For fun take a ride with the cable car and experience a roller coaster ride up and down San Francisco's hilly streets.

Day 1 - Drive down to Santa Cruz and spend the day and evening there. There are plenty of beaches to soak yourself in.

Day 2 & 3 - Drive down to Monterey and spend the entire day exploring the town and the surrounding areas Carmel/Salinas. This I would say would be the best part of your road trip on PCH, so take time and enjoy this place, there's so much to do here, kayaking, cycling, 17 mile drive and the amazing sunsets. Also visit the wineries there. I believe 2 days here would be justified.

Day 4 - Drive out to Point Lobos State Park, and check out some amazing waterfalls there. Then later drive down to Julia Pfeiffer Burns State park and check out the park, waterfalls, breathtaking cliffs. This region is called Big Sur. It has some amazing meadows with cliffs and pacific ocean on either sides. Plan ahead on your night stay here.

Day 5 - Drive down to Santa Barbara, what is only 2 hour drive north from Los Angeles. From the City, you are just minutes away from the Santa Barbara wine country. Also vist Hearst Castle, beaches, San Luis Obispo, and many other attractions.

Day 5 - Drive to Malibu beaches.

Day 6 - Drive to Los Angeles. Visit the Universal studios, drive up to Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

Wineries during the road: If you are interested, there are some great wineries where you can sample the wine. Many are free but this depends on the area. On your trip you will find many wineries in Santa Cruz, Carmel Valley, Monterey, Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Barbara. The movie Sideways was filmed in Santa Barbara and you can visit the same wineries and restaurants as in the movie....they loved the free publicity. Check out http://www.cheers2wine.com for info on the wineries and restaurants in this area.
